Sormusten herra tarjoaa sekä sivu- että minuuttikaupalla hyvää lainamateriaalia, mutta pienenä mieleen jäivät parhaiten Galadrielin aloitussanat sekä Frodon ja Gandalfin väliset keskustelut Moriassa koskien sormuksenkantajan kohtaloa:

Varsinkin tuon viimeisen sanat ovat jääneet erityisen sykähdyttävinä mieleen. Vetoaa jokaiseen, joka kokee voimattomuutta ja kyvyttömyyttä parantaa olosuhteitaan. Joskus tunsin, mutta onneksi sellaiseen ei ole enää syytä. Harvemmin leffoista jää yksittäisiä repliikkejä päähän, ennemminkin sarjoista. Lainauksilla pitää olla joku funktio omassa ajattelussani, sillä muuten ne eivät kestä aikaa. Leffojenkin tulee silloin yleensä pohjata johonkin, joka on ennestään tuttua, tai lainauksen sisältää jotain muihin kiinnostuksenkohteisiini liittyvää. Pikemminkin muistan kohtaukset visuaalisesti ja tunnelmaltaan kuin puheeltaan.
Olen siis huono leffareferenssiautomaatti, mutta kerta kiellon päälle: Kuningatar Kristiinan( -33) paras kohtaus on alkupäässä, jossa kuningatar kääntyy kurtistamaan kulmiaan Oxenstiernan välittämille kansan epäilyille tämän avioliittoaikeista:
